How often do we pass something by and do not notice it at all? Even when it is something we value and seek to call forth. And just what does it take for us to see? What is it that finally gets our attention?

Today i walked by late in the afternoon, a tweeked-out “kid” was erratically jumping around; at first i noticed him and his energy, but then he left and i noticed all the rocks – ones that i had walked by blindly – not seeing them at all. Noticing the boulders set about in this town – set out as a barricade in front of the courthouse, on peoples lawns, and scattered about in the urban environment – and what they add, not merely to the landscape, but to the energy
